Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Were Reportedly Spotted Together Post-Breakup

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez may have broken up, but that doesn’t mean they’re cutting each other out of their lives.

Over the weekend, sources told Page Six that the former couple had dinner together at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles on Friday, April 23. Sound familiar? Well, according to Page Six, this is the same luxury hotel where the couple went on their first date in 2017. 

The superstar and the baseball player dated for a couple of years before getting engaged in 2019. While their wedding was initially pushed back due to COVID-19 restrictions, rumors about infidelity and a premature breakup report led many to question the couple’s relationship status. On April 15, 2021, the pair officially called off their two-year engagement. 

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” Lopez and Rodriguez said in a joint statement to Today. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.” 

While the breakup was reportedly mutual, it has seemingly hit a few bumps. According to sources, Jennifer Lopez reportedly “insisted” on the breakup over a lack of trust. “There are too many issues that are unresolved,” one “friend” recently told People. “She has been pretty miserable and didn’t think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex.” 

A separate source added, “whether or not he has cheated doesn’t matter. She won’t tolerate the fear of it in the air between them.”

Just days after the breakup, Lopez liked a not-so-cryptic quote by author r.h. Sin on Instagram. “Don’t make her think you care. when you have never given a fuck about her,” the post read. Fans were quick to question whether or not Lopez and Rodriguez were truly still friends.

Still, it hasn’t been all drama. On April 21, the JLo Beauty mogul posted a sweet message to Rodriguez’s daughter Ella on Instagram stories. “Happy birthday Ella Bella,” she wrote alongside a beautiful black-and-white photo of the pair hugging.

Maybe this reported dinner was the next step towards closure for everyone involved. Only time will tell.
