Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that unlike her Amazonian character, she is all too mortal: She accidentally chopped off the tip of her finger while chopping up a salad.
Reflecting on the early days of the pandemic, Gadot recalled a sudden urge to make cabbage salad after drinking at 11 a.m. “I started to chop the thing, and I chopped the top of my finger,” she admitted. Kimmel said he’d done the same thing with a block of Parmesan cheese, and now neither celebrity now has any feeling at the end of their finger.
“Anyway, Yaron [Varsano, her husband] went to the chopping board and he held the finger,” she recalled. Apparently, he was so disgusted that “he threw it into the garbage disposal.” Since the flesh was gone, she didn’t even go to the hospital. And that was that! Talk about a cautionary tale against Sunday brunch.
Gal Gadot, who is currently pregnant with her third daughter, told Kimmel that having girls is “how we roll.” Her two daughters were naturally curious about “how the baby got in there,” so the couple “explained the PG way: mommy and daddy had a big hug,” telling them that “[dad] plant[ed] the seed in mommy’s tummy.”
To announce the news to their kids, Gadot and Varsano set up a little cupcake party, with each family member getting their own cupcake, plus an extra for the unborn sister. When their eldest daughter Alma put two and two together, she apparently cried out, “No!!!,” but has since come around.
Now promoting her documentary series Impact, Gadot also shared an anecdote from the franchise that made her an A-lister: She took home Diana’s golden helmet from the set of WW84. And she’ll even put it on if you ask nicely!
