Cardi B Is Reportedly Launching a Beauty Line

Is the world ready for Bodak Yellow Highlighter and Bloody Shoes Red Lipstick? Yes, rapper Cardi B is gearing up to potentially launch her own beauty line, and we should have seen this coming.

Halsey has a makeup line. Kanye West might start a beauty brand. All these other celebrities have skin care companies. Now, Cardi B. At least, it’s a possibility. Per TMZ, Cardi’s company, Washpoppin Inc. (great name) recently filed trademark applications for the phrase “Bardi Beauty,” and the documents indicate that the product line, if and when it launches, would include items like “cosmetics, fragrances, haircare, skin care, nail polish, nail enamel” and more.

In 2019, the “Up” rapper dodged an interview question about when she might launch a beauty line but confirmed that it was something she wanted to do. And this past March, she revealed on Instagram that a “hairline” wold be coming “this year.” She wrote, “a hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughter’s,” and knowing Cardi, this could mean anything from conditioner to dyes to wigs and extensions.

Cardi is no stranger to the product and endorsement game. She’s had deals with Fashion Nova and other brands, including a current collaboration with Reebok that includes sneakers and apparel. Maybe this most recent line was inspired by the skincare tips she got from fans after dealing with breakouts in January?

The “WAP” singer posted a makeup-free video in February, telling followers, “This [is] me with no makeup, no filter…You know, you can see the little blemishes on my face, you can see my lips so chapped, I’ve been biting them all night. I woke up 20 minutes ago, didn’t even brush my hair…I just wanted to let y’all know that I feel comfortable in my skin, that I’m great, that I’m happy, my record is doing great, and just because you got so much hatred in your heart that when I do great y’all wanna put it down. You can’t, I’ma stay on top with this face, with this natural face. Makeup or not, a bitch is doing good.”
