Arrests made in connection with burglaries in Highbridge

Police have reportedly arrested four suspects in relation to burglaries which took place in Highbridge, Somerset, on Monday morning.

The two incidents were said to have occurred after 2am, with Morland Social Club in the town being targeted first.

Following this, the group of men then forced their way into Churchfield School.

When police officers arrived at the scene they arrested the four males, who are all in their twenties, and they were able to recover items that were stolen in the raid during an investigation of the crime scenes.

A spokesman for the police, Martin Dunscombe, said:

“Police were called to the Churchfield School area at 2.10am after a group of people was seen acting suspiciously.

“It was found that burglaries had taken place at Morland Social Club and Churchfield School.

“Four men from the Bristol area were arrested on suspicion of burglary and one on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.”

The police are asking anyone with information regarding these incidents to give them a call.

If you own a business and are concerned about the security measures you currently have in place to protect the building and its contents, then you should think about getting a wireless alarm installed.
