Where To Watch This Year’s Oscar-Nominated Movies

With so many theaters across the country still closed and the increasing options of streaming services available, knowing where to watch Oscar-nominated movies is harder than ever this year.

In fact, nothing about the 2021 Oscars is like awards seasons past. The Oscars will finally be awarded on April 25—over a year after many of the nominated films came out. But that’s just what happens when an entire industry is disrupted by a global pandemic. Still, despite theaters being closed, some amazing films came out in 2020, and some stellar performances need to be recognized.

There were snubs—no Regina King for directing One Night In Miami?—and happy surprises (Minari!). Women are finally taking up some real space in the director category, and Sacha Baron Cohen is having the best year of his career. Not only is Borat Subsequent Moviefilm nominated in two categories, he’s also in the running for his performance in The Trial of the Chicago 7. It was a good year for Academy Award movies on Netflix. Mank leads the way with the most nominations—movie people love movies about movie people—but don’t count out The Father

If you’re gearing up to fill out a prediction card, or just want to be able to keep up with the conversation around the Oscars, better start streaming! All of the films are available somewhere online, and there are several Oscar-nominated movies on Netflix alone. So continue reading to find out where to watch the 2021 Oscar-nominated movies.
