Sophie Turner Says She Wore a Mask While Giving Birth—And She Has No Time for Anti-Maskers

Sophie Turner does not want to hear anyone complaining about wearing a mask as the coronavirus pandemic rages on in America and around the world.

She took to Instagram Stories on December 16 and revived her internet-beloved “and that’s the tea” series with a very direct message to those who won’t wear the CDC-recommended face coverings in public. (Per its website: “CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings, like on public and mass transportation, at events and gatherings, and anywhere they will be around other people.”)

“If I can wear a mask while I give birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart,” she said. “And that’s the tea.” Turner and her husband, Joe Jonas, welcomed their daughter (reportedly named Willa) earlier this summer.

We do not disagree, Sophie. Women across the country made tremendous adjustments to their birth plans during the pandemic, including wearing masks. If they can do it while bringing a whole human life into the world, we all can do it.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have been taking all the quarantine recommendations seriously since March—but they still seemed to have a lot of fun. Further proof that following the rules won’t ruin your life! Remember when she did her husband’s makeup and it looked amazing? Or when Jonas turned their house into a club with his DJ sets

“He’s started doing that really, really loudly when I’m trying to read my scripts. He’s DJing at home,” Turner told Conan O’Brien in April. “But it’s fun! I pour him his drinks. I pour him his alcohol. I give him tequila shots. He’ll text me and be like, ‘What time is it?’ I’ll reply from the kitchen, ‘Shot time,’ and bring him a shot of tequila.”

This is the kind of pandemic behavior we can get behind. Meanwhile, if you’re in the market for some new masks, check out this list of some with the best reviews.

Stay safe out there, everybody!
