‘Outer Banks’ Is Coming Back For Season 3—Here’s Everything We Know

Just when you think things couldn’t get any twistier, Netflix renews Outer Banks for season three. No need to hunt for buried treasure anymore, we already know we want this. The first two seasons of the hit show captivated viewers with intriguing love triangles, mysterious cliffhangers, and yeah, the off-screen drama helped a bit, too. (Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline weren’t the only celebs to call it quits post-quarantine, but they might have been the youngest!)

If you haven’t tuned in, it’s hard to overstate just how obsessed with this show people are. It’s way more than another teen soap. It’s got high adventure, a treasure hunt, and at its core, a friend group you’ll fall in love with. It’s actually much closer to Veronica Mars than The O.C., and the second season just made the drama that much more intense. When will it be streaming?

The third season was announced on December 7, 2021, but no information about production or premiere dates is yet available.

Is everyone coming back?

Yes! All three show runners (Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke) will return, as well as lead cast members Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten.

Are there any new characters?

Not sure yet, but there is a promotion! Carlacia Grant, who played Cleo in four episodes, has been upped to series regular.
