Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Getting a Podcast

Clear your queues, because Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting a podcast.

Several, in fact. Variety reports the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed an exclusive, multiyear deal to produce original audio content with Spotify under their recently formed Archewell Audio company. Now, before you think this means Markle and Prince Harry will just stay behind-the-scenes, Variety reports Markle and Prince Harry will host some of these podcasts themselves. Per the outlet, the Sussexes’ goal with this new endeavor is to “build community through shared experience, narratives, and values.”

The first full Archewell Audio podcast series for Spotify won’t debut until 2021, but Markle and Prince Harry are hosting a holiday episode centered on “stories of hope and compassion.” (TBD on a release date, but probably in the coming weeks.) Sounds exactly like the content we need going into 2021.

“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction,” Markle and Prince Harry said in a statement, per Variety. “With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are certainly taking the media world by storm. In September 2020, news broke they’d inked a deal with Netflix to produce documentary projects, movies, and TV shows

“We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere,” Netflix’s co-chief executive and chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, said in a statement obtained by The New York Times

Bring me all the Meghan and Harry content in 2021, please!
