Kristen Bell Had the Most Adorable Reaction to Her Daughter Interrupting a Zoom Interview

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are the latest parents to be interrupted by their children during a work Zoom.

On August 12, one of Bell and Shepard’s daughters decided to say hello to her parents during their interview on the Today show with Al Roker. “One of them’s knocking, even though they know they can’t come out on camera,” Shepard tells Roker during the call while  Bell adds, “Child at the door. You take it, you take the question. I’ll get the child. Hold on.”

Of course, both parents get out of their chairs, and it was pretty adorable. The reason for the interruption, of course, was a very serious matter: birthday cake.

“I said, ‘We’re on TV right now, we’re on the news,’ and she said, ‘Okay,'” Bell told Roker. “And this, I’m sure, is about the doll’s birthday. It’s her doll’s birthday, and now we have to order a cake. She’s taking it very seriously.”

The couple shares two children: eight-year-old Lincoln and six-year-old Delta, who both  recently came up in a Hollywood-wide discourse about baths…or lack thereof. 

Last week, Kristen Bell and Dax Shephard appeared on The View to talk about how often they wash their children after Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher revealed they only bathe their kids once they see visible dirt on them.  

“We bathed our children every single night prior to bed as their routine, then somehow they just started going to sleep on their own without their routine, and we had to start saying [to each other] like, ‘Hey, when was the last time you bathed them?’” said Shepard, per BuzzFeed.

“I’m a big fan of waiting for the stink,” agreed Bell. “Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up. There’s a red flag.” The Frozen star thought it through from a health perspective too. “Honestly, it’s just bacteria; once you get bacteria, you gotta be like, ‘Get in the tub or the shower,’” she said before backing up her fellow Bad Moms costar: “I don’t hate what [Kunis and Kutcher] are doing. I wait for the stink.”

During their Today show interview on the 12th, they doubled down. “It’s a smell test,” Bell said on NBC. “It’s a foot smell test. And then you just pop them in the water or the shower or the bath.”
