Kendall Jenner Wore a Cutout, Midriff-Baring Dress to a Wedding—And Was Called ‘Inappropriate’
Kendall Jenner finally addressed a buzzed-about outfit she wore as a wedding guest two months ago.
In November the model and entrepreneur headed to Miami to celebrate her friend Lauren Perez’s wedding. In true Jenner fashion, her wedding guest outfit was stunning. Keeping in trend with recent celebrity fashion, Jenner wore a cutout dress. The revealing black number from Mônot had small triangular pieces of fabric covering her chest and abdomen. At the event she posted her look on her Instagram Story, taking pictures with famous friends Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber. Perez marked the wedding with an Instagram post on New Year’s Eve, referring to it as “the greatest night of 2021.” Upon seeing Jenner in the first image of the carousel, people in the comments didn’t hesitate to criticize her on her dress choice.
According to screenshots obtained by People, one commenter wrote, “Inappropriate outfit at wedding @kendalljenner I’m embarrassed for you. #cringe.” A supporter in the comments responded, “If the bride herself doesn’t gaf why do you care? relax,” prompting an in-thread response from Perez.
“Tell em!” Perez wrote. “SHE LOOKED STUNNING AND I LOVED IT !” Jenner herself responded to the thread, adding that she “obvi asked” Perez “for approval in advance too.” Jenner quipped, “We love a beach wedding,” so it sounds like her dress was weather-appropriate too.
Jenner wasn’t going to let some internet trolls ruin the memory of her friend’s wedding with some negative comments. While they were busy criticizing her outfit choice on New Year’s Eve, she was getting cozy with her boyfriend, NBA player Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns. On Sunday, January 2, Kendall Jenner shared an Instagram carousel of photos from her New Year’s weekend getaway, and Booker is featured in a mirror selfie. Looks like Jenner and Booker are entering 2022 entirely unbothered.
