Jimmy Kimmel Asked Michelle Obama About Her Sex Life, and She Had the Best Response

Former first lady Michelle Obama has always been the picture of class, elegance, tact, and poise. While she clearly has a sense of humor and is honest and vulnerable when she wants to be, she also has her boundaries. Which is why it was so great to see that when late-night host Jimmy Kimmel asked her a sex question, she didn’t just decline to answer. She actually turned it around on Kimmel and called him out. Couples everywhere, take notes: This is how you respond to nosiness.

Appearing (remotely) on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about her new Netflix show for kids, Waffles + Mochi, Mrs. Obama played along and joked about how sales of her memoir, Becoming, are “way, way ahead” of her husband’s. She opened up about quarantine life with Barack and their two daughters. It’s a late-night show, you have to give the host something! But when Kimmel asked about sex, she drew a line.

Referring to a conversation they’d had at an event a few years ago, Kimmel said, “I asked you a question that night, and I actually asked your husband this question, as well and he kicked it back to you. I asked you…on the night that SEAL Team Six took out Osama Bin Laden at your husband’s order, did you and your husband make love that night to celebrate?”

Over nervous audience laughter, Obama replied, “I have to tell your audience that for some very sick reason, you are very obsessed with this portion of that major historical event, in a way that no one else…no one in the history of all the conversations I have had, has anybody drilled down on this particular point.” As Kimmel nodded in agreement, she laughed and continued, “So, I turn that back on you.”

In a friendly way, Michelle Obama honestly came for Jimmy Kimmel’s psyche, telling him, “You’re still that little boy in your bedroom, under the cover with the flashlight, going, ‘I hope nobody sees me.’”

The interaction starts just before the six-minute mark:
