Jennifer Lawrence Ups Her Chic Maternity Style With This Little Black Polka-Dot Dress

Jennifer Lawrence is back on the Hollywood scene and bringing some fantastic maternity style with her.

Ahead of the release of her new movie, Don’t Look Up, the Oscar-winning actor appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert wearing a little black dress—with a twist. The long-sleeve dress was covered in white polka dots with a square neckline, and Lawrence accessorized with pearl drop earrings, a pearl necklace, and black stilettos.

J.Law’s last visit to Colbert was in 2018, when she discussed wanting to take a break from Hollywood. Colbert asked her what she got up to during her three-year hiatus, and she had the perfect response. Looking down at her baby bump, she joked, “I just had a ton of sex,” to which Colbert shook her hand and said, “Good for you.” Indeed.

When the pandemic started, Lawrence, like all of us, had to put life on hold and mainly cooked and cleaned. She used to find comfort in a schedule and being on set, but Lawrence said the best thing about the hiatus was not having people screaming for her everywhere she went.

“Coming out of Hunger Games and all of that, it was nice and I took a break,” Lawrence said. “Nobody really cared. It was quiet, and I got to feel like I could become a part of the world again without fanfare.”

Lawrence is expecting her first child with husband Cooke Maroney. She hasn’t opened up much about her pregnancy, but she did touch on it briefly in a recent Vanity Fair article.

“If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!’” she said. “But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can. I don’t want anyone to feel welcome into their existence. And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work.”

Don’t Look Up hits theaters December 10 and Netflix December 24.
