Jennifer Garner Has the Worst First Kiss Story: ‘He Broke Up With Me the Next Day’

Somewhere out there is a guy named Matt who is kicking himself for breaking up with America’s sweetheart, Jennifer Garner.

On February 6, the actor spent time in Boston, MA, accepting Hasty Pudding’s 2022 Woman of the Year Award, an honor bestowed by Harvard University’s prestigious theater group. As a part of the celebration, Garner participated in a bit of a Q+A in which she was not allowed to skip a single question, in reference to her recent movie, Yes Day.

That’s when the topic of Garner’s first kiss came up—and the actor did not hold back. “It was a guy named Matt Crittenden. He tried to go further than a kiss, and I swatted it away,” she said, per People. “He broke up with me the next day because he said I was a prude, which was a badge I’ve worn proudly ever since. I was 18!” Imagine dumping Jennifer Garner! Couldn’t be me.

On top of being one of Hollywood’s most beloved A-listers, Garner is known to be incredibly funny, especially at her own expense. There was the time she filmed herself nearly setting her kitchen on fire for her Instagram cooking show, but my personal favorite Garner moment is when she accidentally sent a selfie to a wrong number and shared the exchange with her social media followers.

It’s only natural that Garner is about to join the revival of one of the funniest sitcoms of the mid-2000s. In January, it was announced that Garner has been cast in Party Down along with the series’ original cast members Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, and Megan Mullally. The series follows a group of Hollywood hopefuls waiting for their big break while working as very unenthusiastic caterers.
