Is Taylor Swift’s Brit Awards Outfit an Easter Egg About Her Next Album?

Another Taylor Swift appearance, another chance for never-ending Easter egg analysis from Swifties about her future rerecorded albums.

On May 11, Taylor accepted the Global Icon Award at this year’s Brit Awards, and she shared a photo of her outfit for the evening: a sparkly Miu Miu skirt and matching top. She completed the look with her old signatures, a red lip and straightened blond bangs.

So like any Taylor clue, this one is multifaceted—will 1989 (Taylor’s Version) be next, or Red (Taylor’s Version)? Or, as one fan posited, both? “Taylor ‘red’ era hair with the bangs with ‘1989’ filter vibes IF WE GET TWO RE-RECORDED ALBUMS IN ONE RELEASE ISTG,” the fan wrote.

But the Easter eggs don’t stop with Taylor alone. Olivia Rodrigo was also in attendance, which means she’s also fair game for clues. Fans picked up on Olivia’s memorable flowing red dress during her performance of “Drivers License,” connecting the dots to…Red (Taylor’s Version). The two even got to finally meet for the first time, with Olivia sharing the evidence on Instagram. As one fan put it, “If if olivia rodrigo is not on RED (taylors version) I’m suing.”

Easter eggs aside, the moment was a big one for Taylor, whose win was preceded by a montage of congratulations from celebrities including Selena Gomez, Annie Lennox, Griff, and Zoë Kravitz. In her acceptance speech, she thanked all of them, plus her boyfriend Joe Alwyn and the Folklorians. And perhaps acknowledging Olivia and other young artists in the audience, she took a moment to offer some wisdom.

“If you’re being met with resistance, that probably means that you’re doing something new,” she said. “If you experience turbulence and pressure, that probably means you’re rising. And there might be times when you put your whole heart and soul into something and it’s met with cynicism or skepticism. You can’t let that crush you. You have to let that fuel you.”
