How J.Lo and A-Rod Are Reportedly Working Through Their Relationship Problems

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are not splitting up, contrary to recent rumors. The couple released a statement on March 13, obtained by People, explaining they “are working through some things.” Now, another insider tells People Lopez and Rodriguez are doing whatever it takes to make their relationship work.

Lopez is currently filming her upcoming movie, Shotgun Wedding, in the Dominican Republic, but Rodriguez isn’t letting that keep them apart. “He flew back to spend a few more days with Jennifer,” an insider tells People. He’s expected to return to Miami before MLB season begins April 1. “He is making a big effort,” the source adds. “And he wants Jennifer to be happy.”

Jennifer Lopez will be in the D.R. for several more weeks before the film wraps, but the source says that she and Alex Rodriguez are “doing everything they can to prioritize their relationship.”

Rodriguez popped the question in March 2019, and the two had plans for a wedding in 2020, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. “You know, we’ve talked about so many different things cause we had to cancel the wedding last year because of COVID, because of the quarantine, and we actually did it twice, which people don’t know, where we had it in different times—first one canceled and then second one canceled as well—and so I don’t know,” Lopez told Access Hollywood in December 2020. “We kind of have let it go for a second.”

Of course, news of their relationship struggles has some wondering if the wedding is still happening. Another source told People that “they never officially broke up”: “They hit a rough patch, but were not broken up.”
