Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore Introduced Their Newborns: ‘Love Story for the Ages’

Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore are hoping that love is in the air.
On May 1, Moore introduced her 2-month-old son, August, to Duff’s 5-week-old daughter, Mae James, and the photo is ridiculously cute. “Love is in the air,” the This Is Us star wrote on Instagram stories, alongside the shot of the newborn babies. Although, based on Mae’s expression, I’m not so sure she’s right about that!
Moore revealed she gave birth to her first child with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, on February 23, 2021. In a picture posted on Instagram, Moore shared that her son’s name is August Harrison Goldsmith, but that he’ll go by Gus.
“Gus is here 💙💙💙💙. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents,” she wrote. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T.”
Duff even commented on Goldsmith’s photo, writing, “Congratulations to Gus’ mom and dad!!!!! Welcome to the world dude!” Her husband Matthew Koma added, “DAD!!!!”
While Hilary Duff is not a brand-new mom like Moore—she shares a son, Luca, with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie, and a daughter, Banks Violet, with Koma—the Younger star just welcomed her second daughter, Mae James, on March 24.
“Mae James Bair-We LOVE you beauty 3-24-21,” she wrote in the caption of a sweet black-and-white family photo.
Duff later opened up about why she wanted her son in the room while she delivered her baby at home. “I’m really big on being open and honest with him about how strong women are and what childbirth looks like,” she said on the Informed Pregnancy podcast, per People. ”[Luca] knows all about periods, and it’s important for me to normalize that conversation with him for all the women that are going to be in his life.”
