Here’s How Much the ‘ACS: Impeachment’ Cast Looks Like Their IRL Counterparts

One of the most highly anticipated TV shows of the past few years has finally arrived on FX. American Crime Story: Impeachment premiered on FX Tuesday night, September 7, and fans are abuzz. 

The Ryan Murphy–produced drama from showrunner Sarah Burgess is a retelling of the events that led to former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment in 1998. Spanning the ’90s, the show highlights the stories of Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, Linda Tripp, and all the people involved in what became known as the Lewinsky Scandal. 

American Crime Story: Impeachment has a star-studded cast, including Beanie Feldstein, Clive Owen, Sarah Paulson, Annaleigh Ashford, Edie Falco, Margo Martindale, and Colbie Smulders. But the Impeachment stars–and their very accurate makeup and costumes–aren’t the only reason for the show’s high profile. Impeachment is significant because it tells the story of the Lewinsky scandal from the necessary perspective, which is Lewinksy’s. Lewinsky, then in her early 20s, was maligned and ridiculed in the press and by the entire country for her affair with Clinton. But this series tells the story from her point of view. Lewinsky is a producer on the show and worked with Feldstein in her portrayal.
