‘Grace and Frankie’ Just Surprise-Dropped 4 Episodes From Season 7

Grace and Frankie just came back way sooner than fans expected. On Friday, August 13, Netflix dropped the first four episodes of season seven of the hit sitcom and announced that more are on the way.

The streaming giant let the show’s stars make the announcement in a short video. In the clip, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda channel their at-each-other’s-throats characters, interrupting one another while explaining that while they’ve missed us, it’s far more important that we have missed them. They say they’re hard at work filming the seventh (and final) season of the show, but in the meantime, here are four episodes to tide us over.

According to the Netflix landing page, the final episodes are coming in 2022, so pace yourselves, fans. The new episodes are called “The Roomies,” “The Arraignment,” “The Bunny,” and “The Circumcision.”

Starring Tomlin, Fonda, and a deep bench of comedy actors–including Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn, Ethan Embry, and Peter Gallagher–Grace and Frankie follows the unlikely friendship of two women forced to band together after their rich husbands reveal they’ve been in a relationship with each other for decades. JustJared reports that by the end of season seven, the show will have run for 94 episodes, the longest-running original Netflix series in the company’s history. The show was created by Marta Kauffman, who also created a little long-running sitcom called Friends.

In 2016, Vaughn revealed that Tomlin and Fonda are just as great off-screen as they are on. She told Glamour about Tomlin, “What a generous, kind soul. She’s a huge influence on me because she has this generosity of spirit that is apparent in all of her work. She likes to hear what people have to say. But also, just the nicest person, and she’s so considerate of others.”

And she said about Fonda, “She is a queen. She is royalty.”
