In fact, they think it’s a layered Easter egg reference to her High School Musical: The Musical: The Series costar and rumored ex-boyfriend, Joshua Bassett. On May 14, TikTok user @giselelizbth pointed out in a video that not only do Olivia Rodrigo and Lana Thomas match, but they may have something else in common. When @giselelizbth googled Lana’ ex-boyfriend—you know, the one who went on a date with Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) in order to feed her location to the press—the user discovered his name was also Josh. Fans on Twitter also made the connection. “Everyone was saying the cheerleading outfit Liv wears in the ‘good 4 u video’ is like the one Mandy Moore wears in The Princess Diaries and I was like hmm why would she do that and THEN I REMEMBERED THAT MEAN BOY IN THE MOVIE WAS NAMED JOSH,” one user tweeted. Even more damning: the character’s full name is Joshua Bryant, making his initials J.B. 

If all this is true, Easter egg queen Taylor Swift would be proud. Well, more proud than she already is.
