Exes Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas Reunited at a Halloween Party

Exes Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas reunited over the weekend at a Halloween party in Los Angeles, and it’s making us miss the Camp Rock days. What a time to be alive!

This weekend Joe Jonas shared a selfie of himself and Demi Lovato smiling on his Instagram Stories. (It’s no longer available, but you can view a screenshot of the selfie here.) Jonas was dressed totally on theme for the Disney Channel Original Movie selfie, as Paolo from The Lizzie Maguire Movie. His wife, Sophie Turner, was dressed as Hilary Duff’s character. 

Lovato, meanwhile, was in black leather head to toe. Jonas put a purple emoji in the story and tagged Lovato, who reshared it on their Stories. No word on whether the two of them reminisced about when Joe sang, “You’re the voice I hear inside my head” to Demi while playing guitar on a dock in Camp Rock, though.

Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato dated for four months back in 2010 after the release of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, and we’re just going to pretend this was five years ago instead of 11. Needless to say, the couple’s brief romance shook the Disney Channel fandom. 

In the 2017 documentary Simply Complicated, Lovato revealed that they had a crush on Jonas the entire time they filmed Camp Rock and said, “I wasn’t acting much.”

After the breakup, Jonas made it clear that the two would try to remain friends. “I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now,” he told Us Weekly in 2010. “It was my choice to break up, but I love [Lovato] as a friend.”

While Lovato and Jonas haven’t remained close, they have stayed friendly ever since their short relationship ended. In 2017, Lovato congratulated Jonas on his engagement to Game of Thrones star Turner on Instagram. And now the two are giving the people what they want: throwbacks to their absolute masterpiece Camp Rock.
