Courtney Love Slams TV Show About Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s Sex Tape

No love for this project. Music icon Courtney Love is not happy about Hulu’s upcoming limited series about Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee. In a private Facebook post, Love called out the project, which focuses on the aftermath of the release of Anderson and Lee’s sex tape.
“I find this so fucking outrageous,” Love wrote on Facebook on Friday, May 14, alongside a photo of an article about the show, per People. She continued, “When Pam / Tommy sex tape was out / myself @pattyschemel @xmadmx were making a record…And the lone women in many recording studios in LA. Where all / ALL! The staff engineers / producers / owners / were watching the sex tape with huge schadenfraude.. Guffaws, It was disgusting. I banned anyone discussing it.. It destroyed my friend Pamelas life. Utterly.”
As Anderson has said—and as the series will likely cover—the tape was released and distributed without the couple’s consent, and they made no money from its sales.
According to People, Courtney Love revealed she was asked to approve use of a photo of her”a Rolling Stone cover”in the series, writing on Facebook, “Last week I was asked to approve using a Rolling Stone cover of mine / shot by Mark Seliger in this piece of shit…That they had approved. I said ‘fuck no.’ shocked. Gentleman don’t approve this sort of thing.”
Continued Love, “My heart goes out to Pammy ♥️♥️ further causing her complex trauma. And shame on Lily James whoever the fuck she is. #vile.” Lily James has been making headlines lately for her uncanny likeness of Anderson in photos from the series, which is currently in production. Sebastian Stan also stars as Lee.
Pam and Tommy is the official name of the show, and it’s described by Hulu as a “comedic limited series on the true story behind the release of the first-ever viral video in history—the sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.”
