Though the actor had already starred in successful projects, like 2015’s standout horror film The Witch and 2020’s Emma, it was the role of chess genius Beth Harmon that launched her into superstardom seemingly overnight.

While she gained new fans playing the iconic redhead, it was her mermaid-length blonde hair that made waves during awards season at the top of 2021. The success of The Queen’s Gambit meant that Anya Taylor-Joy received nominations from major awards shows including the Golden Globes and Emmys. She did not disappoint sartorially, even when she was dressing up at home for a Zoom ceremony.

From the Venice Film Festival to the CFDA Fashion Awards, each look embodied Old Hollywood glamour and a sense of humor in bright colors. We’d expect nothing less given her partnership with stylist Law Roach, who is also famous for dressing red-carpet legend Zendaya.
