9 Shows to Watch While You Wait For ‘Who Killed Sara?’ Season 2

Desperately craving the second season of Netflix’s twisty murder mystery Who Killed Sara? Us, too. And while re-watching the first season of this addictive Spanish-language hit has revealed a few clues, there are only so many times we can go back to that well. So while we twiddle our thumbs patiently waiting for Netflix to drop the new episodes on May 19, we’ll be checking out a few other shows that have the same combination of sex appeal, intrigue, and of course, murder.

This Emmy-winning series centers on the secrets and lies (eh?!) among affluent moms in Monterrey, California—the kind of women who know everything about everyone else but are somehow blind to what’s right in front of them. Spoiler: husbands suck. Watch on HBO Max.

Ever wanted to sleep with danger? You presents a chilling proposition: the boyfriend of your dreams is a stalker who will murder your friends out of a twisted kind of love. This Netflix hit is creepy but so compelling, and every single character has a secret (or five). Watch on Netflix.

Adapted from a graphic novel, this HBO dark comedy follows Cassie (Kaley Cuoco), an alcoholic flight attendant who wakes up one morning in Bangkok with only a blurry memory of the night before, and a dead man in bed beside her. After a series of questionable panic-decisions, she realizes she has to solve the case herself to clear her name. We guarantee this show has twists you won’t see coming. Watch on HBO Max.

Riverdale (2017-)

Forget high school antics: This show opens on the mysterious disappearance of Cheryl Blossom’s twin brother and gets weirder from there, spinning a web of intrigue that includes cults, serial killers, and secret siblings. If you haven’t checked out The CW’s head-scratching hit, maybe now’s the perfect time. Watch on Netflix.

Scandal (2012-2018)

Murder is just one of the many crimes continually committed in this high-stakes DC drama. There’s also political intrigue, blackmail, and weird torture brainwashing stuff. And sex! White House sex.  Watch on Hulu.

Pretty Little Liars (2010-2017)

It would be a fool’s errand to attempt to explain the plot of this show, but suffice it to say the fashions are hardcore 2000s and the murders are so numerous that not even the cast can remember what happened. Watch on HBO Max.

Desperate Housewives (2004-2012)

This primetime soap, a lighter Big Little Lies before prestige TV made everything so dour, starts with the murder of a well-to-do stay-at-home wife and explores the effect her death has on the neighborhood, where so many secrets are kept but, just as often, revealed. Watch on Hulu.

Elite (2018-)

Elite centers on a prep school that’s, well, elite but rocked by a shocking murder. Watch on Netflix.

How to Get Away With Murder (2014-2020)

The title says it all. Murder in academia, led by the phenomenal Viola Davis, who won an Emmy for her work in this hit series. It’s sort of a legal thriller but also a sexy drama and mostly a cliffhanger machine. Set some time aside: You’re going to want to binge-watch this one. Watch on Netflix.

Okay but seriously…who killed Sara?
