Hampshire garden centre targeted once again by burglars

It has been reported that thieves have targeted a garden centre site in Eastleigh, Hampshire, for a second time within the space of a couple of weeks.

The two burglaries took place at Arturi’s Garden Centre, with the latest incident happening within the early hours of this Sunday morning, with a safe stolen.

Hampshire Police are now investigating the burglaries which happened at the premises in Allington Lane, Fair Oak, and have made an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

The second break-in occurred only eight days following the initial incident, where food for the café at the garden centre was taken from a storage shed.

PC Paul Osborne of Eastleigh Police Station said at the time:

“Due to the size and weight of the items stolen, we believe it is likely that the offenders would have used a vehicle in order to transport the goods. The closest place a vehicle could have been parked is on Allington Lane.

“We would therefore urge anyone who may have seen any suspicious vehicles parked on Allington Lane, or any suspicious behaviour in the area, during the relevant times to contact police. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered these food items for sale.”

When you have a business where stock is stored on the premises, it is necessary to have efficient security measures installed to ward against the threat posed by burglars. Monitored burglar alarms can be of great benefit in alerting the police should any such break-in occur.
