Neighbors, I have some news: You is coming back for a fourth season

Yes, that’s right: Ahead of the highly-anticipated third season premiere of You (on October 15), Netflix announced the show has been renewed for another chapter. Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) isn’t going anywhere any time soon, people.

Here’s what we know about You season four:

It’s happening. Netflix announced the news on Wednesday, October 13, with a creepy teaser.

The cast. Netflix says this will be revealed at a later date. However, from this teaser, it’s safe to assume Joe Goldberg (Badgley) will be returning.

Behind-the-scenes. Sera Gamble will stay on as showrunner; she’s executive producing alongside Greg Berlanti, who’s written and produced on You since its launch on Lifetime in 2018

What’s it about? Unclear. We need to watch season three first! However, Netflix does say season four will be based on the novels You and Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes.

“Reading Caroline’s novel, Greg and I were instantly obsessed with Joe Goldberg and his twisted world view. And it’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life. We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support, and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past three seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season four.” Gamble said in a statement.

And here’s an official synopsis of season three, so you know what you’re in for: “Joe and Love, now married and raising their baby, have moved to the balmy Northern California enclave of Madre Linda, where they’re surrounded by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers, and Insta-famous biohackers. Joe is committed to his new role as a husband and dad but fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness. And then there’s his heart. Could the woman he’s been searching for all this time live right next door? Breaking out of a cage in a basement is one thing. But the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who’s wise to your tricks? Well, that’ll prove a much more complicated escape.”

This post will be updated.
