We Tried Fenty’s New Skin Tint on Five Different Skin Tones

This launch immediately piqued my interest not only because I subscribe to the church of Rihanna, but also because I’m always here for another no-makeup makeup staple, and I was a big fan of the Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in the before times. I’ve mainly used this one tinted oil every day for the past year, but I’ve found that when I have a breakout and the light hits just so, the dewiness of the formula actually draws attention to any texture issues I’m trying to conceal—which is not the case with Fenty Beauty’s Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint.

This product does exactly what it claims to: blurs pores and bumps, evens skin tone, and gets the job done with a mess-free application. The compact packaging makes it ideal for throwing into a tote bag and keeping on deck for mid-day touch-ups, which can easily be done with your fingers if you don’t have a sponge or a brush on hand, since it’s not liquid-y at all. I’m still going to keep my go-to tinted oil on rotation, but this is an awesome alternative if I’m going for a more air-brushed look, rather than something super supple and dewy. I’d recommend this for a lightweight summer look or for days when you’re hopping on a Zoom call that you want to look alive for, but may or may not be wearing pants.

This would be the world’s most perfect foundation if I had just a little less acne. I love the way it feels—like nothing—and the pretty, airbrushed finish. It’s not dewy, but it’s not a classic matte either, so it works perfectly with my combo skin. It offers pretty decent coverage for a tint, considering most others I’ve tried just add dew instead of pigment, but my scarring and pimples shine through just a touch too much for my taste (it looks better in photos than IRL which isn’t necessarily a bad thing). However, I’m so into the blurring effect and lightweight texture that I’m willing to pack on the concealer where I need it, especially with summer coming up.

I’m shocked at how much I love this product. I typically would never go for a satin-y finish since I have supremely dry skin and fine lines, but this somehow does not accentuate either. The color match is absolutely perfect (which is saying something because it’s usually hard for me to find a flawless fit for my medium skin), and the coverage is just my type: It easily evens out my skin tone but is light enough to actually look natural. (It really, truly look like skin.) The only thing I wish this product had was some moisturizing properties since it’s perfect for using during the spring and summer.
