Is the Tiger King out of prison? No, but new content around him is coming.

Yes: Joe Exotic, the Tiger King, is still in prison, but that hasn’t stopped a new season of Tiger King from coming to Netflix.

The docuseries first took off back in spring 2020, when most of the country and the world was on lockdown at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Tiger King took over pop culture and was so successful for Netflix that the service picked it up for a second season, in which the colorful saga of big cat owners continues in the aftermath of massive fame and attention from the first season.

Netflix just released the Tiger King season 2 trailer, which teases big drama about big personalities who love big cats. It looks like the second season will continue to explore the disappearance of Don Lewis in 1997 and the rivalry between Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic.

Watch the Tiger King 2 trailer, below.

Here’s everything we know about season 2 of Tiger King so far:

Joe Exotic is in it. Negative reactions have not stopped Joe Exotic from participating in Tiger King season 2 from prison. In the trailer, Joe Exotic participates in the doc via phone and once again insists on his innocence. In 2018, he was arrested on suspicion of hiring two men to murder Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin, his rival. In 2019, Exotic was convicted on 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder for hire for the plot to kill Baskin, He received a 22-year sentence in federal prison.

The poster teases more from Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin. The caption on the official poster for Tiger King season 2, below, cheekily says “We’ve only scratched the surface” and features the eyes of Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin at the top.

The big cat drama continues. Here’s Netflix’s official description of the season:

“With Joe Exotic behind bars and Carole Baskin closing in on ownership of his disreputable zoo, the Emmy-nominated saga continues its twisted course with Tiger King 2 as newfound revelations emerge on the motivations, backstories, and secrets of America’s most notorious big cat owners. Old enemies and frenemies, including Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark, Allen Glover, and James Garretson return for another season of murder, mayhem, and madness. Thought you knew the whole story? Just you wait.”

The second season will have five episodes. Season 1 had seven episodes.

It drops on Netflix November 17. That’s just in time for Thanksgiving, so you’ll have plenty to talk about it with relatives who only ever ask you why you’re single.

This post will be updated.
