The Trailer for ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 2 Is Making Us Emotional

[ad_1]

Don’t call it a comeback. Or do. Heck, you just frame this any way you like! It’s Ted Lasso, the nicest comedy on television, and it’s returning for season two

The hit Apple TV+ series, about an American football coach recruited to manage a U.K. soccer team, earned a vociferous fanbase during the pandemic, when its messages of community and optimism were needed more than ever. Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis, who won a Golden Globe Award for the role) lives by a credo of “believe,” and if you’ve seen the first season, you’ll understand why viewers became believers too.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming second season:

It returns July 23. It’s unclear if the episodes will drop weekly or all at once, but either way, mark your calendars: The Lasso is back on July 23.

Watch a trailer, below. I’m so excited.

Coach Lasso is still in charge. At the end of the first season, AFC Richmond loses its spot in the Premier League. And even though team owner Rebecca Welton had befriended Coach Lasso, you just never know what these shake-ups mean for people’s jobs. But in the new trailer, Lasso is clearly still at the helm, inspiring his players in the locker room and on the pitch.

Where’s Roy Kent? Still with Keeley and enjoying life as a retired footballer, taking care of his beloved niece, it looks like. Kent, played by series cocreator Brett Goldstein, was a huge part of the first season, so we’d imagine the writers found a way to keep him around, even if he isn’t on the team anymore. Which is good because he’s, um, so, so hot.

Plus, Keeley is in charge of the players’ P.R., or whatever job she made up for herself at the end of season one.

Where can you watch Ted Lasso? Only with an Apple TV+ account. Unless you’ve found a DVD or Blu-Ray source, the only way to watch is through Apple TV+, so sign up for a free trial or beg, borrow, or steal someone else’s login.

We will update this post as more information becomes available.
