Now that the world is opening up more and more, so are the red carpets. And the BET Awards 2021, which took place on Sunday, June 27, were a delightful return to form for live events. We’re grateful for the reemergence—a look is just not the same when it’s shared over Zoom.
This red carpet was especially good. Zendaya showed up in a callback to 2003 Beyoncé, Lil Nas X delivered two equally fantastic outfits, Issa Rae wore a tuxedo dress that we’ll be referencing for months to come, and that’s just the start.

Nobody has as much fun as Lil Nas X on the red carpet, and we appreciate the “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” rapper for it. The artist showed up in not one but two full-on looks to the 2021 BET Awards.

Issa Rae
The Insecure actor is a forever favorite when it comes to best-dressed lists, and her BET Awards look is no exception. She paired this structured tuxedo dress with Bulgari earrings and a ring.

There to accept a lifetime achievement award, actor and artist Queen Latifah fittingly wore an amazing cape and Oxford shirtdress by Thom Browne.
