Selena Gomez Just Got Her First Grammy Nomination—And Her Fans Are Ecstatic

Actor, singer, producer, beauty brand founder, Taylor Swift BFF, maybe-Chris-Evans-hook-up, and amateur chef Selena Gomez can now add “Grammy nominee” to her list of accolades. Congratulations!

Her Spanish-language EP, Revelación, released March 2021, was already nominated at the Latin Grammys for a music video earlier this year. Now, it’s nominated for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2022 Grammys, alongside Pablo Alborán (Vértigo), Paula Arenas (Mis Amores), Ricardo Arjona (Hecho a la Antigua), Camilo (Mis Manos), and Alex Cuba (Mendó). Obviously, her fans are losing their minds at the news.

“NOW IM SO EMOTIONAL… HER FIRST GRAMMY NOMINATION IS FOR THE PROJECT SHE WANTED TO DO SINCE SHE STARTED HER CAREER MY BABY DID IT… SHE REALLY DID IT,” wrote one enthusiastic supporter.

“AND SHE ATE THAT ALBUM” wrote another.

Fellow recording artist Maggie Lindemann congratulated Gomez on Twitter, writing, “she deserves” alongside the news.

As one fan summed it up, “Selena got nominated for both Latin Grammy and the Grammys this year with Revelación I am so proud of her.”

We are too!

Selena Gomez stans, a.k.a Selenators, are some of the most rabid in the fandom world. They’ve launched online campaigns against TV shows that make jokes about Gomez’s kidney transplant, put together a frankly conspiracy-level theory that she’s dating Chris Evans, and a few even yelled at her ex, Justin Bieber, and his wife, Hailey, at the Met gala. Obviously, the actions of some do not represent the wishes of all, but it’s really nice to see them rally around their fave in a positive way for one of her accomplishments, rather than something to do with her personal life. Yes, this is the way to support!

Gomez herself hasn’t publicly reacted to the news yet or updated her Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok accounts since nominations were announced. We will update this post if she does!
