Selena Gomez Fans Have a Theory She’s Dating Chris Evans

In the latest edition of Internet Fan Theories That Most Likely Aren’t True But Are Fun Speculation: People think Selena Gomez and Chris Evans are dating. 

Again, let me preface this by saying there’s no concrete evidence, just circumstantial chatter, so take this with the heftiest grain of salt. But yes, there’s a certain corner of the Selena Gomez fandom that has linked her to Captain America. 

What’s this based on, you ask? As I said, not much. It all started when fans noticed Evans now follows Gomez on Instagram. It’s unclear when this happened, but she’s one of the few accounts he follows. Also, per the blog Nicki Swift, Evans and Gomez were spotted leaving the same Los Angeles studio on October 1  and also the same restaurant. Keep in mind there are no photos of them together at these places, so we’re operating from the fan rumor mill—which isn’t exactly reliable. Let me restate this just so there’s no confusion: This is all speculation.

The only thing we know for sure is Gomez has said she has a crush on Evans. In 2015 she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live she thinks the Marvel star is “very cute.” That being said, a lot of people think Chris Evans is cute. Most of them don’’t get to date him! 

True or not, fans are very into the idea of Gomez and Evans getting together. “BRO I AM NOT MAD ABOUT THIS RUMOR SELENA GOMEZ AND CHRIS EVANS ARE SUCH A POWER COUPLE,” one person tweeted. 

“If Selena Gomez is really dating Chris Evans that gives me so much hope about going from toxic boys to a DAMN MAN,” another fan tweeted. 

And a third added, “PLEASE CHRIS EVANS AND SELENA GOMEZ. HOLLYWOOD’S MOST ATTRACTIVE AND THE MOST POWERFUL COUPLE.” 

Let’s file this one under “wait and see” for now.
