Scarlett Johansson Gave an Adorable, Rare Update on Her 4-Month-Old Son, Cosmo

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost welcomed their first child together, son Cosmo, in August 2021. (Johansson has a daughter from a previous marriage.) They don’t talk much about their private family life, but the Black Widow actor just gave a cute update on her baby boy to People.

“He’s great,” Johansson said. “He’s tiny. He’s making all the fun discoveries, like feet. Feet! Who knew? They’re there!”

The Marriage Story star said her four-month-old is doing “everything” to his feet: “stare at them, pull on them, chew on them.”

“It’s just unbelievable,” she added. “I mean, can you imagine you never realized you had feet and then you looked down and there they are? You’re like, ‘Whoa.’ “

Scarlett Johansson said her daughter is starting to make the connection that her mother is a famous actor. “I think she’s pretty excited about the fact that I’m in Sing 2,” she said. “Although it’s probably more abstract to her. Like she just recently figured out how animated movies work because that’s kind of a surreal, kind of concept.”

“I always really hate it when actors or people in the spotlight make giant grandiose statements about parenthood because it’s so, so personal,” Johansson told The Australian Daily Telegraph in 2015, according to Us Weekly. “I don’t profess to know anything more about parenting than anybody else…Before, I just made the choices that were affecting me, but now I’m responsible for somebody else. Eventually, I will have to work less, and it might even make me more discerning.”

Jost and Johansson tied the knot in October 2020. “He’s very charming and very thoughtful and romantic,” Johansson told People in 2019, saying that during Jost’s proposal, “I was surprised. Even if you kind of imagine what that moment’s gonna be like, it’s still [a] beautiful moment…It was very personal. It was a special moment…I think, more than anything, when someone tells you they want to spend their life with you, that’s a lovely, special thing.”
