Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Welcomed a Son, and His Name Is Magical

Baby ScarJost is here! Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson and Saturday Night Live funnyman Colin Jost just welcomed their first child together, a month after sources revealed Johansson was quietly expecting.

Johansson’s rep, Marcel Pariseau, confirmed the news to People on Wednesday, August 18. The previous Sunday, Jost did a stand-up set in Connecticut wherein he mentioned the pregnancy.

Jost also confirmed some details on Instagram. They welcomed a son named Cosmo! 

Scarlett Johansson is also mom to Rose, seven, from a previous marriage. She and Jost married in an intimate ceremony (very intimate, given COVID restrictions) in October 2020. They confirmed their engagement in May 2019 after two years of dating (check out her unique light brown, teardrop-shaped ring here). Later that year, Johansson hosted Saturday Night Live and called Jost the “love of [her] life” from the stage. Aww.

The private couple hasn’t shared too many details about their life together, but they have spoken sweetly about one another to the press. At the Emmys, Jost told E! News his now-wife is “pretty cool,” adding, “It’s hard to have a lot of complaints…She’s pretty awesome.”

“He’s very charming and very thoughtful and romantic,” Johansson told People in 2019, revealing that during the proposal, “I was surprised. Even if you kind of imagine what that moment’s gonna be like, it’s still [a] beautiful moment…It was very personal. It was a special moment…I think, more than anything, when someone tells you they want to spend their life with you, that’s a lovely, special thing.”

She told Vanity Fair around the same time, “The idea of building a family, making a family, and having that work, I like that idea. I think that would be wonderful. I’ve always wanted that.”
