Sadie Sink Just Gave Us an Update on ‘Stranger Things’ Season Four
When Sadie Sink calls me from Hawkins, Indiana Atlanta on a recent summer afternoon, it’s evident right away what she’s up to. “We’re currently still in production,” the 19-year-old confirms of the much-anticipated Stranger Things season four. “There’s really not much I can say after everything that happened in season three, but you’ll see Max in a very different place.” Whether that means we’ll see Max in a different place geographically or mentally (or perhaps both), we don’t know. But two years since ST3 launched, Sink is just as excited as anyone to “get it out there for everyone to see.” (TBD on when that might be….)
In the meantime, you can watch Sink in another period thriller on Netflix: the three-part movie event Fear Street Trilogy. Taking place first in 1994, the films are based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling horror series and focuses on a group of teens who discover the events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected. Part two, set in 1978, features Sink in the lead as Vicki, a very aloof, misunderstood camper. Part three, which also stars Sink, will drop on July 16.
“The idea of shooting the films back-to-back and seeing them over the span of one summer was really interesting and exciting for me,” Sink says. And while one would assume she is a big fan of the scary movie/TV series genre, the actor tells me that’s not necessarily the case. “Honestly, I don’t gravitate toward watching horror films or scary TV shows, but I love being a part of them and making them,” she tells Glamour. “I just love doing the stunt work and being covered in blood. It’s so exciting to me.”
Sink is also a fan of the retro styles, which she’s gotten to experience plenty of thanks to ’80s-set Stranger Things and now Fear Street. “I like ’70s fashion a bit more than ’80s fashion,” she says, “but I find that when I’m playing these roles, I gravitate toward the period-appropriate fashion whenever I’m shopping for my personal life. It definitely makes an impact on what my closet looks like.”
Speaking of her closet, it was the perfect opportunity to segue into Glamour‘s latest edition of Your Fave’s Faves, where we had Sink fill us in on the items that mean the most to her. From sneakers to skin care, there’s something for everyone.
The comfiest sweatshirt I can’t stop wearing
I’m living in this Acne Studios sweatshirt that’s a gray cotton sweatshirt. It’s getting a little too hot outside to actually wear out, but it’s perfect for inside the house. I’ve worn it out at this point.
My favorite item in my closet
I have a lot of favorites, but I wear white sneakers with pretty much everything. My current favorite pair are these Stella McCartney Stan Smiths. They’re great, and I wear them with everything. At this point I’ll have to relearn how to wear heels. Maybe I’ll refuse to wear heels from here on out.
My red-carpet look that I love the most
My first time attending the Golden Globes, I wore a custom Miu Miu dress. It was my first big awards show, so it really meant a lot to me. I’d also never worn that much jewelry in my life, so I really felt like a princess that night. It was also just so special because that was the year everyone wore black in recognition of the Time’s Up movement, so it was a really nice way of contributing and making a statement with fashion, while also being one of my favorite looks.

I just switched to Fable & Mane shampoo and conditioner, which smells so good and keeps my hair really smooth. I only wash it maybe two times a week, which I think is also kind of important. These are my favorite products to use. It keeps my hair manageable and calms any frizz that I have going on, which is a constant battle here in Atlanta.
The skin-care products I can’t live without
I’m a skin-care junkie, so I’m constantly switching out products and trying new things, but there are three staples in my routine, starting with True Botanicals Vitamin C booster powder, which you just mix with water or your serum. I’ll put that on my face in the morning and I feel like I see instant results in terms of my skin’s brightness. The serum I mix it with is the Youth Dew serum from May Lindstrom. And then I like the Blue Cocoon facial oil balm, which is also from May Lindstrom. I started using May Lindstrom’s products last winter because it helps with dryness. It works really well for my skin and feels and smells incredible.
The sunscreens I swear by
Any time I’m at the beach or the pool or the lake, I’m always in the water acting like a five-year-old. I’m such a water bug. I bring a pair of goggles with me because I’m that 19-year-old in the pool, with goggles on, asking people if they want to race and have a handstand competition. I always wear sunscreen, SPF30 and above. I really like Sun Bum or Beautycounter. They have really good sunscreens.
My go-to snack on set
I love apples, especially Fuji apples! That’s what I’ll have on set with me. Or veggies and hummus. I’m not really a big chip person.
What I’m reading right now
In my book club, we’re reading Luster by Raven Leilani, which I’m almost done with, and I do like it. It’s a good beach read even though I’m not on the beach; I’m just in my trailer, but it’s nice. And I’m going to reread Normal People because I think it’s the perfect summer book.
The last movie I loved
I watched Luca about two nights ago and thought it was so beautiful, so cute. I’m a sucker for a good Pixar movie. Me and my brother and my little sister always watched them together. I also recently watched Portrait of a Lady on Fire, which was really, really beautiful. I’d love to do a period piece like that one day. I’ve conquered the ’70s and the ’80s and I guess also the 1600s for the third Fear Street movie, but I’d love to do another period piece like that.
The TV shows that bring me the most comfort
I have a lot of comfort TV shows that I love. When I get home from set, it’s the first thing I’ll put on. I love Modern Family or Schitt’s Creek. Recently I’ve been rewatching The Comeback with Lisa Kudrow, which was a great decision because it’s so good. She’s so funny.
