Ryan Reynolds Just Announced a Break From Acting and Blake Lively’s Response Was Priceless

Blake Lively’s endless trolling of her husband Ryan Reynolds continues.

On October 17, the actor announced that he is taking a break from acting for a while in a lengthy Instagram post. He shared the news while celebrating his final day filming his upcoming Christmas musical movie, Spirited, alongside Will Farrell and Octavia Spencer

“That’s a wrap for me on Spirited. Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago,” he wrote alongside multiple behind-the-scenes photos from the set. “Singing, dancing, and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer… Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second [of] working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”

While we are sure Lively is supporting Reynolds in real life, she couldn’t help but tease the actor in the comments. “Michael Caine did it first,” she wrote, referring to the recent news that the respected British actor’s most recent role would be his last (though Caine has since clarified that he has not retired from acting).

Reynolds must not be too upset over the comment, considering he pinned it.

Reynolds subtly shared one of the driving forces behind his decision on Instagram Stories, where he slightly adjusted the definition of sabbatical. “A sabbatical can last anywhere from two months to a year,” a description from Indeed.com reads. “In general, six months is the standard length of time for a paid sabbatical. It gives you enough time and flexibility to such things as travel, study, or complete a major side project.”

Reynolds, however, crossed out those options and inserted the word “parent.”
