Rumored Leaked ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot Script Hints at Major Trouble With Carrie and Big

A rumored leaked script of HBO Max‘s Sex and the City reboot hints at major problems with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mr. Big (Chris Noth).

A few things I should say before we dive in: 1. This is a rumored leaked script, so take it with a grain of salt, and 2. It’s only one page of a script, so it’s impossible to know the exact context. That being said, we’re all super fans here and dying for any info on this revival. So let’s indulge in some playful speculation, shall we?

Page Six has the leaked page in question. At the top of it, there’s a character named Norman who says, “In my experience, when people have unfinished business, they tend to throw money at it.” To this, someone named Gloria says, “Norman, get off the damned phone.” It then notes that Carrie is sitting with Norman and Gloria, looking stunned at their exchange. The Cut posits that maybe Norman and Gloria are lawyers navigating Carrie through her divorce. It’s a promising theory, especially when coupled with a line Carrie says to Miranda, Stanford, and Charlotte later on the page: “I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?”

Mr. Big was previously married to Natasha (Bridget Moynahan), so it’s possible Carrie is revealing she’s now part of an ex-wives club of sorts and collecting a financial settlement from her divorce. Like I said, though, it’s impossible to know anything for sure.

The Sex and the City reboot began filming in summer 2021. An official premiere date hasn’t been announced yet. For more details on the show, click here
