Prince Harry Will Reportedly Only Stay in the U.K. for a Week

Prince Harry is currently in the U.K. for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, but sources say he won’t be there long.

An insider tells Us Weekly the Duke of Sussex will only stay across the pond “for a week” before going back to California to baby Archie and wife Meghan Markle, who’s pregnant with their second child. “He’s already really missing Meghan and Archie and has been FaceTiming them every day to check in,” the source says. “He actually speaks to Meghan a few times a day because he worries [about] leaving her when she’s so far along in her pregnancy.” (According to Us Weekly, Markle was advised by her doctor to stay home; her due date is some time this summer.)

“My grandfather was a man of service, honour, and great humour. He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm—and also because you never knew what he might say next,” Prince Harry wrote in a statement about Prince Philip. “He was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ’til the end.”

Buckingham Palace announced Prince Philip’s passing on April 9. “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” a statement reads. “His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”

It continues, “Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.” His funeral is scheduled for this Saturday, April 17. This trip marks the first time Prince Harry will be reunited with his family since his and Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey
