Peter Weber’s Mom Barb Responds to His Breakup With Kelley Flanagan: ‘Our Hearts Ache’

Can you believe the finale of Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor was just 10 months ago?! It feels like a whole other lifetime that his mom, Barbara Weber, tore his relationship with Madison Prewett to shreds on national television, but it hasn’t even been a year. 

When Peter and Madison broke up just a few days after the finale aired in March 2020, Barb seemingly took to Instagram to not-so-subtly share her feelings about the news. However, she’s singing a completely different tune now that Peter has split from Kelley Flanagan—another contestant from his season—after several months of dating amid quarantine. 

“Love can be fickle and it is not for the timid. Those who have experienced it know this all too well,” she commented on her son’s breakup post on New Year’s Eve. “But it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Our hearts ache for you two. Kelley will always have a piece of our hearts and we wish her only the best.” 

Rumors started flying that Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan were dating back in April 2020, but the pair didn’t confirm their relationship until May. Just shy of eight months later, Peter announced the end of their relationship on December 31, 2020.

“Love is a funny thing. It can make you feel on top of the world and it can make you feel a pain you wish didn’t exist. I’m here to share that Kelley and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote in a lengthy post. “While our relationship was filled with countless beautiful memories, our relationship simply didn’t work out in the end.”

The former Bachelor noted that he will “always have a special love” for Kelley and has “learned more from than she will ever understand.” 

“These moments in life always hurt, but in my opinion that shows you it was worth the time you spent together,” Peter closed out his post. “Thank you Kelley.”

Kelley has yet to share her own post on Instagram, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Barb has a message for her as well. When the reality star shared an image from the “After the Final Rose” special Barb described her as “The Most Beautiful, Elegant, Classy, Intelligent, Stylish Girl in the World” in the comments. At the time, Peter was still with Madison. 

Barb added. “You were and will always be my Fave rav.”
