No, Cameron Diaz Is Not Attracted to Husband Benji Madden’s Identical Twin Brother

No, Cameron Diaz never had the hots for husband Benji Madden’s identical twin brother, Joel Madden, even though she met him first.

On September 27, Cameron Diaz appeared on the latest episode of Anna Faris Is Unqualified to gush about her husband of six years, heartbreak, and her new line of organic wine, Avaline. During their conversation, Diaz opened up about the first time she met Benji and how quickly she felt drawn to him.

Of course, Diaz didn’t blurt out that Joel is the ugly twin or anything like that. The topic started innocently enough when Diaz explained that she met Benji through her now brother-in-law and his wife, Nicole Richie. “I met them first, and then they didn’t set us up, but we were in the same room because of them, and then we found each other,” she explained, per People. “I was like, ‘How come I didn’t see him before?'” 

That’s when Faris’ other guest, Katherine Power, commented, “Which is funny because you saw his twin brother.” 

However, Diaz was quick to point out that to her, the pair couldn’t be more different. “They’re not the same, they’re so different. Even though they’re twins, they’re very, very different obviously,” she responded before continuing to describe their meet-cute. “I saw him walking towards me and I was like, ‘Huh, he’s hot, I haven’t seen him before.'” 

Diaz continued, “But then when I saw him, like who he was, that’s what made me really be like, ‘Oh you, you’re special, you’re the guy, you’re the hidden gem in my life.'”

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have been married since 2015 and share a one-year-old daughter, Raddix. Recently, Benji raved about his wife in a candid Instagram post in honor of Mother’s Day. 

“My Religion is family, and Mother is GOD,” he wrote on May 9. “@camerondiaz You care for us and nurture us. Everything around you grows and flourishes in your light.
