Melania Trump Was Reportedly Doing a Photo Shoot During the Riot at the Capitol

First lady Melania Trump was reportedly doing a photo shoot at the White House during the Capitol riot on January 6, according to a new article from CNN.

Per a source who spoke to the outlet, “Photos were being taken of rugs and other items in the Executive Residence and the East Wing” while the first lady and chief White House usher Timothy Harleth oversaw the project. As this was happening, a mob of Trump supporters violently stormed the halls of Congress.

CNN also reports Melania may be working on a coffee table book about the items she has restored in the White House. She was, according to another source who spoke to CNN, not “in a place mentally or emotionally” to address the country about the riot. Simply put, this source says Melania Trump is “checked out.”

Other members of President Donald Trump’s family have addressed the Capitol riot in general terms. CNN reports Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, held an emergency meeting and urged him to call for an end to the violence. “Everyone else was told to leave the room,” a source told CNN. In the meeting Ivanka reportedly told her father he was the only one the rioters would listen to and he had to tell them to stop. “[President Trump] will do what he wants to do,” said the source. “But if she wasn’t in there yesterday, his tweets would have been a lot different.”

Publicly, Ivanka has condemned the mob but only after she seemed to call them “patriots” in a since deleted tweet. Meanwhile, her sister-in-law, Karlie Kloss (who is married to Joshua Kushner), said on Twitter she has “tried” to explain to Ivanka how the Trump family has helped spread the false narrative that Joe Biden and his running mate, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, stole the 2020 election.

The rightfully elected President Joe Biden will be inaugurated on January 20
