Meghan Markle Went on ‘Ellen’ and Revealed How She’s Handling Baby Lili’s Teething

Surprise! Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, recently filmed an interview on Ellen, which will air Thursday, November 18, but details about their conversation have already been revealed. In the segment, Markle chats with Ellen DeGeneres about life with Prince Harry in California and how they’re adjusting to being a family of four after welcoming daughter Lilibet Diana in June. Markle says the baby girl has already started teething.

In a promo covered by People, DeGeneres mentions that Lili is teething and suggests tequila as a pain reliever. “That’s Auntie Ellen for you,” jokes Markle, to which DeGeneres responds, “That’s why I don’t have kids.”

DeGeneres and Markle are neighbors in Montecito, and the duchess says she’s loving raising her kids on a farm-style property. “We’re just happy,” Markle declares. Aww.

Reflecting on the journey from struggling actor to quasi-royal, Markle also shared an anecdote about a rickety car she used to drive to auditions at the very studio lot where she sat for her Ellen appearance. Because the door on the driver’s side couldn’t be opened from outside, Markle would get into her car via…the trunk. You can hear her explain it here:

“The security guards would always say, ‘Break a leg! We hope you get it!’ So the drive in today was very different,” Markle recalled.

We honestly can’t wait for this interview to air. Daniel Martin, Meghan Markle’s makeup artist, was backstage the whole time and told People, “It’s really fun, and Ellen really pulled out Meghan’s goofy, funny side, which everyone will be able to finally see.” We already knew Markle had a fun side (collab with Melissa McCarthy, hello!), but we’re always down for more light-hearted chats. Good luck with the teething, Baby Lili!
