Meghan Markle Is Serving Bombshell in This Bright Red Carolina Herrera Gown

At the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala on November 10 in New York City, Meghan Markle wore a red gown that makes us very excited for holiday-party style. 

The red gown, by Carolina Herrera, has a deep V-neck and full skirt with a slit. The Duchess of Sussex styled the stunning and sexy dress with silver bracelets, silver earrings, and dark red slingback heels. Markle wore her hair in a sleek high bun and for makeup did a nude pink lip, rosy red cheeks to match the dress, and a subtle smoky eye. Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, was also in attendance.

According to the Intrepid Museum’s website, the Salute to Freedom Gala “recognizes extraordinary leadership and honors the brave men and women who serve in defense of our nation.” 

Recently, Meghan Markle made a passionate push for paid family leave in the United States. After writing an open letter in October, asking Congress about paid family leave, Markle cold-called senators of both political parties to advocate for the issue. 

“I’m in my car. I’m driving. It says ‘Caller ID blocked,’” West Virginia senator Shelley Moore Capito revealed earlier this month, per Politico. “Honestly…I thought it was Senator Manchin. His calls come in blocked. And she goes, ‘Senator Capito?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ She said, ‘This is Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.’ I couldn’t figure out how she got my number.”

In her letter to Congress, Markle wrote, “Over the past 20 months, the pandemic has exposed long-existing fault lines in our communities. At an alarming rate, millions of women dropped out of the workforce, staying home with their kids as schools and daycares were closed, and looking after loved ones full-time. The working mom or parent is facing the conflict of being present or being paid. The sacrifice of either comes at a great cost…. Paid leave should be a national right, rather than a patchwork option limited to those whose employers have policies in place, or those who live in one of the few states where a leave program exists. This is about putting families above politics.”
