‘Loki’ Star Wunmi Mosaku’s Favorite Jumpsuit Is Perfect for Your Reemergence Wardrobe

You don’t have to be a Marvel fan to know that the Loki premiere is the biggest thing happening on TV this week. The Disney+ series, now streaming, sees Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as the god of mischief (or rather, an alternate timeline version of himself)—but perhaps most exciting is the introduction of totally new characters to the MCU.
Enter: Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, a high-ranking employee of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a mysterious bureaucratic organization that Loki finds himself working for by the end of episode one. “I love her,” Mosaku says of the character. “She’s really fair and even-tempered, but also a bit of a badass.”
But for Mosaku, the real thrill was getting to work with a cast that includes Hiddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Owen Wilson. “We had a great cast,” she tells me over the phone. “So lovely to work with everyone, and we had a lot of fun. It’s just a shame we didn’t really hang out after, because of Covid, but we had a joyful set.”
Speaking of joyful things, Wunmi Mosaku took the time to share everything she’s loving at the moment. From her favorite kitchen tool to the cleanser that helps fight maskne, read on for another installment of Your Fave’s Faves.
My favorite thing(s) in my closet
I don’t like clothes shopping at all, so my approach is generally to shop online. If I have something in mind, like I know I want to wear a red dress, I will just literally search “red dresses” on Google [and buy that]. But I would say my favorite thing in my closet right now is this really cute Tanya Taylor jumpsuit. It’s hot pink, and I love it. It’s very flattering and has a little bit of flare and drama to it, but it’s also really comfortable.
I also love all of my Busayo dresses, because I love the fabric. It’s made very traditionally in Nigeria by hand, and it’s the fabric of my childhood. The Busayo dresses are modern and fashionable, but still what I knew growing up. They are the most structured, picturesque dresses. They’re dramatic and feminine, with a kind of edge to them.
The best thing in my kitchen
I got the Our Place Always Pan, and I absolutely love it. It’s so good, and it looks cute. I love cooking Nigerian food because it reminds me of home. I love to make crumpets too, because I miss eating them in the U.K. I like cooking things that make me feel like I’m home.
My go-to beauty products
I have been a victim of maskne in the past year. I’ve never really had a problem with my skin before, but now I have this whole routine. It begins with Cetaphil cleanser. It’s like medicine—you can get it at any drugstore—but it’s simple. It’s really been great because it is so gentle and my skin has become sensitive over the last year. I don’t know if it’s from stress of the pandemic or what, but I have to be really careful with my skin. After the Cetaphil, I use Neutrogena’s hyaluronic acid serum. And I love Lord Jones’ CBD lip balm. That is amazing. Ugh, it’s so good. It makes me happy every time I put it on.
The TV show I’m loving
I’ve been watching Girlfriends with Tracee Ellis Ross. We didn’t have it in the U.K. growing up, so when it came on Netflix I was like, “I’ve heard so much about this as a classic.” Everyone talks about it, and I had never seen it. I just love it. If I had watched Girlfriends growing up instead of Sex and the City or Friends, I would have had a lot more of feeling like, “Oh! This life is attainable to me too.” We didn’t have anything like that when I was growing up in the U.K., so I am loving it.
