Liam Hemsworth Photobombs Girlfriend Gabriella Brooks in First-Ever Instagram Pic

Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks have reportedly been dating since 2019 but have managed to keep their private life pretty, well, private.

However, on May 18, the couple appeared in a birthday tribute post by friend Michele Merkin, who shared a series of photos with Brooks, who recently turned 23 years old. “Wishing you croctails and giggles for life,” Merkin wrote alongside a mix of silly and stunning photos. 

Hemsworth made a cameo appearance in the third pic, popping up behind the girls to join their selfie. This is reportedly the first time the couple has appeared in an Instagram photo together.

“Agh I love you so much,” Brooks replied in the comments. “GG4L!! ❤️”

While it’s unclear exactly when the actor and model began dating, their first spotting made things seem pretty serious at the jump. Hemsworth and Brooks were seen having brunch with his parents back in December 2019 in Byron Bay, Australia. For reference, the actor finalized his divorce from ex-wife Miley Cyrus in January 2020, though they split in the summer of 2019.

“Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” Hemsworth wrote on Instagram in August 2019. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

By January, Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks were spotted kissing in Australia, and the rest appears to be history. “Liam feels comfortable with Gabriella,” a source also told Us Weekly at the time. “His family approves of her and really likes her, which is very important to him.”

In May 2021, Cyrus wrote a sweet Instagram post about her ex on the four-year anniversary of her love song “Malibu.” In the post she describes the hit as “a song about a place and person that at the time I loved very much. That love was reciprocated beyond what I could describe here with freedom & escapism.”

But that doesn’t mean there are any lingering feelings between the couple. Brooks reportedly “isn’t intimidated” by his past marriage. “Liam and Gabriella are really close and feel comfortable with one another,” a source told Us Weekly in September 2020. “They connect over important topics and share the same values about family and life.”
