Lady Gaga Posts Moving Tribute to Britney Spears to Celebrate the End of Her Conservatorship

Lady Gaga is among the legions of fans celebrating the end of Britney Spears’s 13-year conservatorship.

Judge Brenda Penny announced the long-awaited ruling in court on Friday, November 12. “The court finds and determines that the conservatorship of the person and the estate is no longer required, therefore effective today, the conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is hereby terminated,” Penny said, according to People

Spears herself celebrated by sharing a video of her fans celebrating outside the Los Angeles courtroom. “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen ???? #FreedBritney,” Spears wrote on Twitter and Instagram.

Those in the crowd weren’t the only ones excited over the news. Superstar Lady Gaga’s tribute to Spears on Instagram and Twitter was especially moving. “I have loved @britneyspears her whole career,” she wrote alongside a photo of the singers backstage at the 2011 MTV Music Awards. “I looked up to her, admired her strength—she empowered so many people and still does. I couldn’t be more happy for you today. You never deserved what happened, Thank God 4 today❤️ you’re a superstar and a super-human being ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE YOU.”

Gaga isn’t the only celebrity sharing their glee over Spears’ overdue freedom. Cher took to Twitter with a series of emojis. 

Paris Hilton also tweeted, “I’m so happy that this day has finally come. This moment is so long overdue. @BritneySpears is finally free!!! You’re the most resilient, kind and inspiring soul. We all love you so so much! Your best days are yet to come! #FreedBritney.”

“May Blessings continue to flow for you,” Missy Elliott responded to Spears’ tweet. “And nothing but Happiness Love & Peace of mind from here on out.”
