Kim Kardashian Almost ‘Fainted’ After Realizing This Link Between Herself and ‘Bridgerton’

Kim Kardashian is serious about joining the Bridgerton-verse. The reality star and mogul started watching the hit Netflix series at the end of March and quickly became as obsessed as the rest of us. She posted about it on social media, where it caught the attention of series star Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington (a.k.a.—spoiler alert—Lady Whistledown).

Coughlan revealed on Twitter April 20 that Kardashian and her sisters helped inspire the Featherington family’s aesthetic. Kardashian gleefully responded to this, begging to come to the set for a fitting. Coughlan, also amped, replied, “Omg yesss of course we would love to have you!”

But that’s not all the series and Kardashian have in common. Coughlan also posted to Twitter that the corsets used on set were made by legendary designer Mark Pullin, a.k.a. Mr. Pearl, who’s worked with Madonna, Beyoncé, Dita Von Teese…and the Kardashian family. Bessie Carter, who plays Prudence Featherington, revealed the connection to Glamour back in December.

Per Coughlan, Pearl went straight from designing Kardashian’s 2019 Met Gala corset to making her own for the Shonda Rhimes–produced series. “OMG I’m gonna faint!!!!!! Does this make me an honorary Duchess in Bridgerton ?!?!?!? I am the corset Queen!!!” Kardashian tweeted upon learning this connection.

Lady W herself responded, “Why of course, Duchess Kardashian of Calabasas! Lady Whistledown is happy to declare you the season’s true incomparable [diamond].”

The online Kim Kardashian–Bridgerton crossover is, according to Coughlan, “the best thing that’s ever happened,” and fans are ready for Kardashian to make a cameo on the show. As are we. Happy to send along script ideas!

On a side note, Duchess of Calabasas would be a great name for a Keeping Up With the Kardashians spin-off, in case the sisters want back into the reality-TV game at some point.

We cannot wait to see where this conversation goes next.
