Kate Middleton Was Serving Future-Queen Vibes in This Royal Purple Suit

Kate Middleton has been killing the fashion game this week. First she wore a regal gold dress to the No Time to Die premiere in London. And now the Duchess of Cambridge is rocking a royal purple suit fit for, well, the future queen.

She wore the ’fit on a September 29 visit to Derry-Londonderry in Northern Ireland.

“They will spend the day meeting young people and hearing how organizations are engaging across communities to promote positive relations. It is Their Royal Highnesses’ first time in this area of Northern Ireland,” their office said in a statement.

Purple has historically been a significant color for royals. For centuries the dye was very rare, so it became synonymous with wealth and royalty. Queen Elizabeth II has worn various shades of the color purple throughout her reign. And in 2019 Meghan Markle wore a regal purple dress to an engagement (though it was an affordable one from Aritzia).

Middleton’s purple longline jacket has four buttons, and it’s paired with matching straight-leg trousers. Underneath the suit she wore a dark navy turtleneck and tied the look together with a black belt with gold buckles. She styled her hair in a tight ponytail and opted for navy shoes that match her turtleneck. The result? A chic, clean silhouette.

It’s also extremely important to note that while Kate Middleton wore this crisp purple suit, she held various animals, including a tarantula.

Middleton’s style has always been classic. Although she’s never been afraid of bright colors and sparkly gowns, the Duchess of Cambridge is making some bolder fashion choices than she ever has before. As previously mentioned, just a day before (on September 28), Middleton served in an embellished gold gown with a cape. ICYMI: It was in this outfit that she met Billie Eilish. We’re always here for a pop-culture-royals crossover moment!
