Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Are Turning New York City Into Their Own Rom-Com

When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck show PDA around the globe, it is somehow not annoying. 

Since they’ve rekindled their passionate romance two decades in the making, we’ve seen Lopez and Affleck in Miami, Los Angeles,  St. Tropez, and Venice. Now, the basically-royal couple has been seen galavanting around New York City like they’re starring in an early 2000s romantic comedy together. 

On September 25, Lopez performed some of her greatest hits at the Global Citizen Live Concert in Central Park, and  Affleck reportedly flew all the way from Los Angeles to NYC just to see her.

The couple took full advantage of their time in New York City together. Bennifer 2.0 was photographed around Manhattan on a beautiful fall day September 26 doing annoying couple stuff like holding hands, kissing, laughing, and hugging, except it’s not making us roll our eyes. What is happening?

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were last seen in public a few weeks ago at the 2021 Met gala. Affleck did not walk the carpet with her. Instead, he let her have her own moment in her cowboy-chic Ralph Lauren look. Once inside, they kissed through their masks for the cameras, because they know how to give the people what they want. In a recent interview, Affleck gushed about Lopez for the first time since their relationship went public.

“I am in awe of what Jennifer’s effect on the world is. At most, as an artist, I can make movies that move people. Jennifer has inspired a massive group of people to feel they have a seat at the table in this country. That is an effect few people throughout history have had, one I will never know and one I can only stand by and admire with respect,” he told AdWeek.

These photos might as well be from their next movie together, which obviously has to be a romantic comedy. For their day out and about in Manhattan, Lopez wore an extremely main character energy outfit: a plaid teal wool coat with an almost-matching plaid maxi wrap dress and aviators. Affleck, the best boyfriend ever, stuck to a dark grey and blue monochromatic look, because how dare he outshine the main character in their imaginary romantic comedy.
