Grimes Confirms She Was Trolling Us All by Reading ‘The Communist Manifesto’ in Paparazzi Photos

Grimes recently performed a post-breakup publicity stunt that we can honestly say we’ve never seen before, and it’s kind of inspiring?

Grimes always keeps us guessing with many aspects of her life: her music, her relationship with Elon Musk, and even her baby with Elon Musk, which was named X Æ A-Xii. And now with a stroll she took in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Hot off the end of her very public relationship with SpaceX founder Elon Musk, Grimes trolled the paparazzi (and honestly, us) with an interesting walk in Los Angeles over the weekend. Grimes looked like a person from another galaxy in a brown hooded bodysuit which she wore while reading (or at least pretending to read) Karl Marx’s The Communist Manifesto. In an Instagram caption, Grimes said, “I was really stressed when paparazzi wouldn’t stop following me this wk but then I realized it was opportunity to troll .. i swear this headline omg wtf haha im dead.”

In the caption, Grimes also confirms that she’s still living with Musk. “Full disclosure I’m still living with e and I am not a communist (although there are some very smart ideas in this book -but personally I’m more interested in a radical decentralized ubi that I think could potentially be achieved thru crypto and gaming but I haven’t ironed that idea out enough yet to explain it. Regardless my opinions on politics are difficult to describe because the political systems that inspire me the most have not yet been implemented).”

Grimes ended the caption by saying that if the paparazzi continue to chase her, she will think of even more creative ways to troll them. Hit up her comments with ideas, because: “Suggestions welcome!” 

Grimes and Musk, who welcomed their baby last year, broke up in September after three years together. Musk called it a “semi” breakup. 

“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms,” Elon Musk told Page Six. “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas, and her work is primarily in L.A. She’s staying with me now, and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”
