Florence Pugh Fans Are Confused About Her New Red Hair

Florence Pugh might be the latest celebrity to go red for the season…or she may just be taking the look for a test drive. Either way, the Black Widow star—who is currently filming a movie written and directed by her boyfriend, Zach Braff—is sending mixed hair messages on Instagram, and we can’t decide which shade looks better.

Having recently cut her hair short, Pugh debuted a fantastically campy fall get-up on November 23, posing in the dim streetlights in striped pants, a fuzzy jacket, and what looks like bright red hair. She captioned the pic, “Just put your jazzy jeans on 🍸,” and it quickly racked up comments and compliments from her peers like Julia Garner and longtime ginger Bella Thorne, who wrote, “This hair !!!” 

But could that tone could totally be a trick of the light or an effect of a photo filter? Many fans were digging the new hue, with one user writing, “WAIT THE HAIR WAIT WAIT IT’S RED IT LOOKS SO GOOD HELP.” Meanwhile, some couldn’t quite tell if she dyed her hair at all. 

On her Instagram Stories the very next day, November 24, Pugh seems to be back to brunette. She captioned the picture, in which she’s wearing pink leggings and a pink jacket, “On Wednesdays we wear…” We love a Mean Girls reference, but we’re also wondering where the red has gone!

So, what is the truth? A wig for a role? A temporary dye? Is one of these an old picture? Are both of these pictures old and Florence is actually bald now? Wouldn’t put it past her!
